  • Do need to be fully vaccinated to attend Return Pilates?

    The current guidelines from the Victorian government state that anyone participating in a Pilates class must be fully vaccinated.

  • Where is Return Pilates?

    Return Pilates is at Level 1, 293 Wattletree Road, Malvern East. We’re above the Victorian Dental Group – our door is to the right of their shop.

  • How do I get to Return Pilates?

    By train, the closest station is Malvern on the Cranbourne, Frankston and Pakenham lines. It’s 1.3 km from the studio.

    The number 5 tram and number 624 bus both have stops on the corner of Wattletree and Tooronga Roads.

    If riding, you can park your bicycle at the front of the studio.

  • Is there free parking?

    Yes. Download our guide to parking in the area. There are many parking options on Wattletree Road and the surrounding streets. Please be wary of the clearway times on Wattletree Road.

  • What time should I arrive?

    If you are new to Return, please arrive 5 to 10 minutes before your class start time. The studio opens 10 minutes before each class so you can meet your instructor and familiarise yourself with the reformers and studio space.

    Please complete the required exercise waiver through Mindbody before arriving for a smooth start. (You can complete this at the studio too.)

  • Can I join a class if I arrive late?

    Our classes start on time and begin with a warm-up component. If you arrive after the warm-up, the instructor will inform you that you cannot join the class at that stage. This is to ensure the safety of all participants of the class, especially you. Unfortunately, we cannot refund your payment for this class.

  • What if I am unwell?

    If you have a cold, cough, fever, or are unwell at all, we ask that you cancel your session more than 6 hours before the start of your class.
    If you fall ill within this cancellation window, please email info@returnpilates.com.au with details about your cancellation (including name, class time, and reason you need to cancel), and we will contact you as soon as possible. Read our full cancellation policy here.

  • Do I need to book?

    Yes. Prior booking and payment must be made through the Return Pilates app or Mindbody app for all classes. We highly recommend booking classes in advance as it secures your place in the class.

  • How do I book?
  • How old do I need to be?

    We welcome anyone who is 16 years or older to book a class directly. We ask that anyone aged 12 – 15 years, have a parent or legal guardian sign a consent form. This must be completed before attending the studio. A parent or guardian must accompany children aged 12 – 14. We are unable to accommodate children under the age of 12.

  • Is there an upper age limit?

    Pilates because it is accessible to everyone, there is no upper age limit. However we ask that anyone aged 12 – 15 years, have a parent or legal guardian sign a consent form. This must be completed before attending the studio.

  • What if my class is cancelled?

    In the unlikely event that Return Pilates needs to cancel, we will be in contact you via email or by phone in the days after and refund your class.

  • Do you have waitlists?

    Yes, waitlists are available for our classes. You will find these details on the Return Pilates app and Mindbody app.

  • What do I need to know before my first class?

    After booking we’ll send you a confirmation email with links to instructional videos. These show all you need to know about our equipment and basic Pilates concepts. You can also watch these videos here.

  • What do you recommend if I’ve never done Pilates or don’t know my fitness level?

    The Return Pilates timetable will help you find the class that’s best for you.

  • How often should I attend Return Pilates?

    Attendance will depend on your goals and needs. When starting, we recommend allowing at least a day’s rest between sessions. Then, as you become more familiar with how your body responds to Pilates, you can increase or decrease your attendance depending on what works for you.

  • Are private sessions available?

    Our sister organisation, Malvern Physiotherapy Clinic, is set up for 1:1 and small group 1:3 Clinical Pilates. Read all about these sessions here.

  • Can I still join a class if I’m injured?

    Minor adjustments can be made to exercises to accommodate injury. However, if you have a new, troubling or persistent injury, we advise you to make an appointment with one of the physiotherapists at Malvern Physiotherapy Clinic. They can guide you as to what exercise is appropriate for you.

  • Can I join a class if I’m pregnant or have recently given birth?

    Yes! However, there are some limitations. If you are pregnant, firstly, congratulations! Secondly, we ask that you tell us and fill out a pre-natal waiver. After that, you can attend Pilates classes until you are at 16 weeks. After this, or if you have any pregnancy- related concerns, please contact our sister physiotherapy clinic, Malvern Physiotherapy Clinic. They can help you find a Clinical Pilates class more suited to your needs.
    After giving birth, we require you to have seen your health care provider for your 6-to-8- week post-partum check-up before resuming Pilates with us. We also ask you to complete a post-natal questionnaire so we can best understand your needs. If there are any areas of concern, you can contact Malvern Physiotherapy Clinic to speak with their pre-and post-natal physiotherapist.

  • What should I wear? Do I need grip socks?

    Wear anything you like to move in! We suggest clothes that are not too loose. We ask that everyone wears grip socks in the Pilates studio.

  • Can I bring my children or dogs to class?

    Unfortunately moving equipment is dangerous for children and pets so we are unable to accomodate them in the studio.

  • Can I bring my belongings into the studio during class?

    So that the studio stays uncluttered and you can focus on your class, we prefer that you use the free lockers provided to keep your valuables safe.

  • What facilities do you offer? Do I need to bring my towel?

    There are two bathrooms where you can change, lockers to keep your valuables safe, and a filtered water dispenser. We also provide freshly laundered towels.

  • I was recommended Pilates to help manage an injury. Is Return Pilates for me?

    The Clinical Pilates offered at our sister organisation, Malvern Physiotherapy Clinic, is the ideal structure for anyone managing an injury. You will begin with an initial 1:1 assessment and be guided to the ideal structure for you and your injury.

  • What health and safety measures are in place?

    Your health and safety are at the forefront of everything that we do.

    • Air purifiers are throughout our studio
    • We exceed the spacing requirements between reformers as well as the density requirements for recreation facilities
    • Hand sanitiser is available throughout our studio
    • Disinfectant wipes are available for use before and after each class.
    • Towels are hygienically laundered
    • All touchpoints are disinfected regularly throughout the day

  • How can I help protect the Return Pilates community?

    We’re doing everything we can to keep our community safe. Here’s how you can help.

    • Check-in using the QR code as soon as you arrive.
    • Sanitise your hands at each point along your journey throughout our studio.
    • Thoroughly clean your reformer at the end of your class.
    • Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your class starts. This allows time for the previous class to leave the studio.
    • If you are new to our studio, please arrive 10 minutes before your class to complete our forms and have an introduction to our reformers.
    • If you are unwell, please cancel as far ahead as possible to allow anyone who would like to attend the opportunity to do so. Cancellations less than 6 hours before a class will be charged to your account.
    • Do not come to class with even the mildest symptoms, such as fever, a runny nose, or a sore throat. Please also remain home if you are waiting for a COVID test result, or if you have been a close contact with a confirmed case, or if you have travelled to a high-risk area in the past 14 days.
    • Please stay up to date with the latest Victorian Government health advice.
